PHIL HOOD

ARTIST

Philip Hood has worked in a variety of styles in many different areas of illustration.

He has drawn for most major publishers in the UK and US, illustrating numerous books from classic fiction, The Thirty Nine Steps and Diary of a Nobody, to futuristic natural history including The New Dinosaurs and Man After Man.

His work for children includes The Storyworld series for Templar Publishing and he contributed to the exhibition of the drawings at the Illustration Cupboard Gallery in Central London.

Philip has also painted murals which can be seen in the UK, Ireland, France, Denmark, Turkey and Abu Dhabi.

He has also recently designed and painted two pub signs in North London.

His experience as a designer on Punch magazine has led to drawing caricatures at corporate events.

He has exhibited in the Sunday Times watercolour prize at the Mall Galleries in 2009, 2010 and 2013, and at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 2012 at the same gallery.
